Our Service to Employers in 7 Steps

August 22, 2022

Our Employer Services (ES) team works with hundreds of local employers across every industry. Our service is free to employers - our only fee is feedback! We are specialists in catering to the needs of employers, whether you are a small business owner looking to hire one staff member or a large operation looking to onboard multiple staff at short notice. A major part of our success in identifying and placing candidates into roles is our end-to-end screening process. This enables us to be targeted in our approach to an employer’s specific needs, taking the hassle out of the need to hire directly, or use expensive, third-party recruiters. Below, we outline how the process works, step-by-step, from initial consultation with our employers, to the in-employment supports we offer both candidate and employer following a job start.

Step 1 – First Contact

A member of the ES team liaises with HR, the recruitment team, or the hiring manager, of a company looking to onboard staff. This can be done over the phone, email, or in person. This might be a return employer, or an employer who is new to our service.

Step 2 – Employer Consultation

We arrange for a face-to-face, over the phone, or online employer consultation where we discuss their recruitment needs. We advise more about our service and what we can offer, including any additional incentives and our benefits package. We offer the option of making use of our facilities and resources, such as the Turas Nua training department – often employers can offer pre-training material to prepare candidates months in advance of roles becoming available. We then outline the process of how we work and give an insight into our sustainment model – our goal is not just to assist our clients in obtaining employment, but in sustaining it.

Step 3 – Job Description

Once we have agreed on a recruitment strategy, we work with the employer to create a detailed job description to help find the right candidates.

Step 4 – Screening Candidates

The ES team uploads the details of the job description to our CRM system and our candidate matching software system to identify suitable candidates. Meetings are carried out in the local office ensuring that our caseworkers understand the role and can actively promote it with suitable clients they are working with. For large-scale recruitment drives, we prefer to invite candidates who express an interest in the role into our office for a screening with ES. Where appropriate, a screening call can also be carried out with the client. Our screening process allows ES to assess the suitability of candidates – at this stage, we can offer additional guidance on how the candidate can improve their application, enhance their CV, undertake interview preparation, and discuss other potential roles that might also be suitable.

Step 5 – Employer Review

We contact the employer to advise that we have identified suitable pre-screened candidates and CVs are sent directly to the employer for review (we adhere to a strict GDPR policy and only do this with consent).

Step 6 – Interviews

The employer relays information about who they want to invite for an interview. We also offer the employer the option of using our facilities to carry out interviews (this is usually a good option for smaller businesses who don’t have adequate facilities of their own, or for larger companies who are hiring multiple people and who may not have an office in the area). ES assists with the interview schedule. Interviews are carried out and feedback provided to ES. We seek feedback not only in individual candidates, but also on the entire interview process to ensure that we can maintain our level or service for future campaigns.

Step 7 – Job Start

Once the employer has made their decision on who they want to hire, the successful applicants are contacted with Job Start and Induction details. They are offered guidance and advised of their 52-week ongoing In-Employment support process.

Conclusion

Our free service revolves around the need to understand employers’ needs and motivations.

We ask targeted questions to address their recruitment pain points, such as their recruitment needs, how they define their success, and what future growth are they expecting. This profile development it critical in allowing our ES team to show employers we are invested in them, and reminding them that our only fee is feedback.
