JobsPlus: Financial Incentives for Employers

August 18, 2023

At Turas Nua, we help hundreds of employers every day. Our dedicated Employer Services team provides a range of free services, from pre-screening, interview preparation, and even in-work supports for both candidate and employer.

Additionally, there are financial incentives for employers that hire a candidate on our programme. JobsPlus is an employer incentive scheme that aims to encourage and reward employers who provide employment opportunities for unemployed individuals.

Eligible employers who hire full-time employees can apply for the incentive, which offers two levels of payment: either €7,500 or €10,000 over two years, depending on the age of the jobseeker and the length of time they have been in receipt of a qualifying payment.

To apply for JobsPlus, employers can complete the JobsPlus Online Application for Employers and submit it to the department for review. Once eligibility is confirmed, employers can start to recruit. Turas Nua’s Employment Services Consultants can

Candidates can verify their eligibility for the JobsPlus incentive by
applying online at JobsPlus at any time. If found eligible, they will receive a two-part JP1 form which they should bring to the employer for consideration.

When an employer identifies the most suitable candidate, they should complete Part B of the JP1 form for that candidate and return it to the department. Once all conditions are satisfied, employers will be notified by email that they have been awarded the incentive with regard to the specified employee on the JP1 form.

If a candidate is offered a position, they should inform their Caseworker or Employer Services Consultant in Turas Nua. They should also contact the DSP to close their jobseekers claim. Eligibility for JobsPlus is valid at the time it is verified by the department and is re-confirmed on recruitment.
