Turas Nua is proud to be among the supporters of Rethink Ireland’s newly announced €1.1 million Impact Fund for Munster and Wexford, an initiative designed to strengthen organisations delivering positive social impact in communities across the region.

The fund represents the twelfth iteration of Rethink Ireland’s place-based funds and brings together philanthropic and public funding to support organisations responding directly to the needs of their local communities.

The approach is particularly significant because it draws support from across the philanthropic landscape, including individuals, families, trusts and foundations, international foundations and corporate philanthropy, alongside Government funding.

For Turas Nua, supporting the initiative reflects a shared belief in the importance of investing in communities and in the organisations that understand them best.

Supporting solutions rooted in local communities

Place-based funding recognises that many of the most effective responses to social challenges begin within communities themselves.

Local organisations often possess a deep understanding of the people they support, the barriers they experience and the types of interventions that can make a meaningful difference.

The Impact Fund for Munster and Wexford is designed to help those organisations strengthen their work and increase the impact they can have.

Rethink Ireland brings together private philanthropy with public funding, creating a model through which different sectors can collectively support organisations addressing social and community needs.

This collaborative approach allows funding to reach organisations embedded within communities across Munster and Wexford while helping those organisations develop, strengthen and expand their impact.

Their work reflects the breadth of challenges being addressed by community and social-impact organisations throughout the region.

While their individual missions differ, each is rooted in the same principle at the centre of the Impact Fund: supporting solutions developed close to the people and communities they are intended to serve.
